The man accused of hitting a 24-year-old Army veteran on an I-35 exit ramp is set to face criminal charges.

Derek Anthony Sanders, 31, of Wyoming, Minn., has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide. Sanders was taken into custody by Minnesota State Patrol Troopers without incident at his parents’ residence in Wyoming Wednesday morning.

A tip from the public led to the arrest and charging of Sanders, who police believe was involved in the hit-and-run crash that occurred in Hinckley on June 17. The crash took the life of Trevor Langlois, also of Wyoming, Minn.

Langlois, a 24-year-old Army veteran, developed truck problems and was pulled over on a freeway entrance ramp to I-35 in Hinckley when a vehicle hit him and fled.
