Second Suspect Arrested In January Shooting In Cloquet
A second suspect has been charged in a Cloquet shooting from back in January.
Marie Majerle was initially charged after police said she shot and wounded her estranged husband, Richard Majerle in a sauna at Richard Majerle’s home.
After the incident, investigators said 38-year-old John Bemis left town. It was reported at that time that Mr. Bemis and Mrs. Majorlie were believed to be in a romantic relationship.
Bemis was found a couple weeks ago in Nevada and that’s when investigators interviewed Marie Majerle again.
WDIO cites the criminal complaint and reports that Marie Majerle said Bemis wanted to shoot Richard Majerle. She reportedly told investigators that Bemis had a job opportunity in Arizona and Richard Majerle was the only the thing preventing the two from starting a life there.
Court documents said Bemis provided Marie Majerle with a gun and ammunition. Investigators said surveillance video from the Wal Mart in Hermantown showed Bemis purchasing the ammunition.
Bemis is now charged with conspiracy to commit murder and aiding and abetting assault.
His next court date is set for July 10.
