Deer Lands Through Windshield In Highway 70 Crash (Photos Included)
On June 16, 2013 at approximately 1612 p.m. the Pine County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an auto accident in the area of 7687 State Highway 70. A passersby reported a vehicle had hit a deer and that the deer had crashed through the vehicle’s windshield.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the driver who had suffered a head injury dazed and confused as to what had happened. The male was transported to the Grantsburg Hospital via ambulance.
Preliminary investigation shows the male was traveling on Hwy 70 when a deer entered the road way and was struck by the male’s vehicle. The vehicle swerved from one ditch to the other before stopping in a yard. The driver was assisted by residents and passersby until emergency personnel arrived.
