Wisconsin Senate Passes 2013 State Budget

Friday, June 21st, 2013 at 1:41 pm

The Wisconsin Legislature has officially passed the $70 billion state budget.

According to the Associated Press, the Republican controlled Senate finished the bill shortly after midnight on Friday. The Assembly had originally passed it on Wednesday afternoon.

Democrats had apparently used a 90-minute delay a procedural move on Thursday, which blocked a final vote until Friday arrived

The budget passed the Senate on a 17-16 vote. Sen. Dale Schultz was the only Republican to vote against the plan.
