69-Year Old Woman Arrested After Esko Bicyclist Hit & Run
The bicyclist who was injured in a hit-and-run accident near Esko on Sunday is now being identified by the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office. The injured man was 43-year old Michael Howard Norton of Duluth.
At about 11 o’clock on Sunday morning authorities responded to a report of a bicyclist hit by a car on Highway 61 and Rolling Road near Esko. They said the vehicle did not stop and said the victim, later identified as Norton, was brought to a Duluth hospital with substantial bodily injury.
WDIO reports that on Monday, authorities arrested a 69-year-old Esko woman on charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation. She was being held at the Carlton County Jail.
Authorities said inattentive driving appears to be a factor in this accident.
