Mille Lacs Raiders Take State Golf Championship, Local Athletes Compete As Well

The MSHSL State Golf tournament wrapped up on Wednesday and the Mille Lacs Raiders are the boys Class A Champions with a combined team score of 652. The Raiders clamed the top spot in their class by a fairly wide margin as second place went to Murray County Central at 671 and third was Legacy Christian Academy at 676. Hermantown took fourth in Class AA. Mille Lacs’ girls team took seventh at State as well.

In individual competition, Moose Lake-Willow River’s Gabe Douglas tied for 54th in Class AA and Cambridge-Isanti golfer Matt Swanson tied for 74th in Class AAA. North Branch’s Nick Kress tied for 84th in Class AAA as well. Braham girls golfers also did very well with Caitlin Richmond tying for seventh and Alli Anderson taking 29th in Class A.
