Wet Weather Pushes Back Start To Postseason For Local Softball Teams

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 at 6:37 am

Wet weather destroyed the Monday schedule in Section 5 Class A on Monday as the softball playoffs were interrupted by spring storms moving through the area.

Most of the games have just been pushed back a day and will be played at the same locations on Tuesday, weather permitting. This means that Ogilvie will host Braham this afternoon, Rush City will host East Cromwell, Barnum will host Hinckley-Finlayson and East Central will travel to Isle.

The girls Section 7 Class AA playoffs are also set to begin this afternoon with a full slate of games. We’ll cover the Great River Conference Champion Pine City Dragons girls as they head to Moose Lake to take on the Rebels. Pine City finished the regular season with a 10-4 record but did lose it’s regular season finale 6-1 to these same Moose Lake Willow River Rebels. That game will be broadcast this afternoon at 4:30 on 1350AM WCMP.

Also in that same section bracket today, top seed Mora is hosting Aitkin.
