Harding Nominated For Bill Masterton Trophy
Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding has been announced as one of three nominees for the NHL’s Bill Masterton Trophy. Harding is up for the award along with Sidney Crosby of the Penguins and Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid. The award is presented to “the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.”
Harding was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last fall and missed 33 games as he underwent treatment. On April 22, he was activated from injured reserve and returned to the Wild lineup and ended up starting all five playoff games in place of injured Niklas Backstrom.
