MN House, Senate Both Plan Votes This Week On Same Sex Marriage Bill
The Minnesota House has scheduled a Thursday debate and floor vote on the bill to legalize same-sex marriage in the state, and a Minnesota Senate committee voted to send their bill back to the floor for a vote as well.
House Speaker Paul Thissen told the Associated Press that the bill would not be brought to a vote unless they had secured the 68 votes that would be needed to pass the legislation.
Its looking increasingly likely that the bill will approved during this legislative session. If it does pass, same-sex couples would only have to wait until August to legally marry one another in Minnesota.
