Wild Beat Blackhawks 3-2

The Minnesota Wild entered Sunday afternoon’s game three against the Blackhawks desperate for a postseason win. Not only were the Wild down 0-2 in the series, but they knew that they’d again be without winger Jason Pominville and goalie Nicklas Backstrom as they fought to make the series interesting.

Minnesota battled throughout, and ended up pulling out a thrilling 3-2 victory in OT on a goal from young Jason Zucker. The Wild had goals earlier in the game from Pierre-Marc Bouchard in the first period and Zach Parise in the third, but couldn’t hold on to a 2-1 lead late in the third and needed overtime to get their first win of the series. It was a thrilling game, and Wild fans now have some hope that the team can tie things up tomorrow night when the two teams meet again at the X. Again, the Wild beat the Blackhawks Sunday 3-2.
