Wild Will Go Without Pominville In Game 1

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013 at 2:07 pm

The Minnesota Wild have made the postseason and tonight will open their series against the Chicago Blackhawks without Jason Pominville. The Wild winger wont be back for Game 1 as he’s still recovering from a blow to the head.

Pominville sat out the Wild’s final two games of the regular season after he took an elbow from the Kings’ Dustin Brown. He did skate with the team on Monday and there was hope he could play tonight, but it’s a no-go.

Pominville did not take part in the Wild’s morning skate on Tuesday and Coach Mike Yeo told reporters in Chicago that the veteran is, “just not quite ready.”

With Pominville out, Cal Clutterbuck will be on a line with Brodziak and Bouchard.
