The Minnesota Vikings had a very active night at the NFL draft, drafting three players in the first round.

They started the first round of the draft with two picks at 23 and 25.

With the 23rd pick they selected Sharrif Floyd. Floyd is junior out of Florida who plays defensive tackle.

With the 25th pick the Vikings continued to address their defensive needs by drafting cornerback Xavier Rhodes. Rhodes played for Florida State.

Just as the first round of the draft was winding down, the Vikings traded back into it. They traded four picks in this year’s draft to the New England Patriots for the Patriots 29th overall pick.

With that pick they switched their focus to the offensive side of the ball by drafting a wide receiver. They picked up Cordarrelle Patterson out of Tennessee. The Vikings hope Patterson will fill a void left when they traded Percy Harvin to the Seahawks.

Minnesota has multiple more draft picks remaining throughout the rest of the NFL Draft, which resumes today.
