Now that the weather conditions are improving expect to see motorcycles back on the roads.

With the increase in motorcycles on the roads, officials in Wisconsin are calling for those riders to be more cautious as the National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month arrives in May.

The state Department of Transportation says 116 people died last year while riding a motorcycle. It is the highest number in the last 30 years. Most incidents occurred when riders failed to wear a helmet.

Officials say riders should obey traffic laws, share the road and watch for others on the road. They also need to double and even triple check their positions before making a turn or changing lanes.
