Gov. Walker Declares April “New Homes Month”
Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed April as “New Homes Month” in Wisconsin.
His office says the month is meant to highlight the economic impact each new house has on construction jobs. It says an average of $117 million in household income and just over $15 million in tax revenue is generated for every 1,000 new homes made in the state.
Of course, new home construction is a big driver of the economy as a whole. A building expert tells WEAU that the home building market in Wisconsin is projected to be up 25% over last year.
