ECE Invites Volunteers For Project GreenTouch

Thursday, April 18th, 2013 at 8:43 am

East Central Energy (ECE) members and employees will demonstrate their community connection Saturday, May 4, 2013 when they volunteer for an annual spring tradition at two popular state parks.

Project GreenTouch brings people of all ages together at Father Hennepin State Park in Isle, MN, and Pattison State Park near Superior, WI to help prepare these local treasures for the busy season ahead. The event blends fun and fellowship with much-needed projects such as clearing brush and debris, raking, shoveling, painting and planting trees.

ECE sponsors GreenTouch as part of its commitment to community and its dedication to enhancing the quality of life in the territory served by the cooperative. It’s a tradition that was started 14 years ago by Touchstone Energy® cooperatives throughout Minnesota as a way to lend a helping hand and highlight what co-ops stand for.

Volunteers at Father Hennepin work from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Pattison Park event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon. Morning coffee and lunch are served at both locations, courtesy of ECE. The events will be held rain or shine. All tools and materials will be provided by the park staff.

Those who plan to attend are asked to sign up by calling ECE employees Tina Lanhart, 1-800-254-7944, ext. 2065, or in the Superior, WI area, Lori Larson, 715-399-6162.
