Vikings Stadium Plans Take A Sreeching Halt
After disappointing results from the state’s E-pull tab earnings were released, State Sen. Sean Nienow is now putting plans of building a Vikings stadium on hold until there is a better way to finance it.
The Star Tribune reports that Electronic Pull-Tabs yielded unimpressive results, as the expectation of $35 million dollars per year was a major overshoot; the state only generated $1.7 Million in it’s first year. This is scary news as the state still needs to fund over $383 million dollars for the stadium, which prompted the quick halt to the building process.
Senator Nienow is also leading new legislation to delay the sale of stadium bonds until the state can make annual payments towards the stadium. The original ground-breaking date is set for this upcoming fall.
