Cooking Safety Workshop Coming Up April 22 In Hinckley
Food handling for large events is different than home cooking. Cooking Safely for a Crowd is a workshop that teaches participants how to prepare, handle and serve food with safe food handling techniques. It satisfies changes in Minnesota statute 157.22 that requires churches and organizations to have trained volunteers knowledgeable about safe food handling. It will be held on Monday, April 22nd from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hinckley.
Anyone who plans, prepares or serves food for large group events should attend. The workshop instructor will be Debra Botzek-Linn, University of Minnesota Extension Food Safety Educator, St. Cloud Regional Office. A fee of $15 per person will cover handouts and a certificate of attendance for participants. There will be a light meal provided by the church ladies for a free will offering.
Registrations are requested prior to the event by April 15th to ensure that the workshop is held.
