Pine City Superintendent Gilman Says New Auditorium Plan Will Reduce Expenses
Last Thursday, the Pine City School Board agreed on a new plan for the building of the new high school auditorium aimed at reducing overall expense.
The news was announced on the Pine City School’s Facebook page on Monday morning. School Superintendent Wayne Gilman posted that “the entire project was scrutinized and areas were redesigned without compromising on the size of the auditorium and instructional areas.”
Gilman noted that the “biggest savings was made by avoiding demolition of the current band and choir rooms. Choir will move into the band room and a new band room will be constructed. The old choir room will be used for instrument storage.”
Gilman posted that the project will be delayed and rebid in June. If all goes well, officials hope the auditorium will finished before next spring.
