Rural Duluth Woman Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle
A St. Louis county one-vehicle accident has killed a pedestrian.
On Sunday night, 65-year-old Charlene Kelly, of rural Duluth was struck by a vehicle while walking with her bike in Grand Lake Township in rural Duluth. Kelly passed away at 4:30 a.m. Monday morning. The woman’s husband told WDIO that she suffered from dementia and had been wandering around with her bike. Her family members were looking for her at the time of the accident.
Witnesses told police that Kelly was standing in the road with her bike when she was hit. The driver of the car was a 17-year-old male from Proctor. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office said no criminal charges are anticipated.
She was airlifted to Saint Luke’s in Duluth with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to those injuries.
