Dahlman Becomes First MN Girls Player To Eclipse 5000 Points (Audio)

With 5:25 remaining in a lopsided Wednesday night win against BOLD at the State Tournament, guard Rebekah Dahlman again put her name in the record books. Again.

Dahlman’s breakaway layup and 38th point of the night put her over 5000 points for her career. Braham fans erupted at Target Center in support of Dahlman, who has committed to play D-1 ball next year at Vanderbilt. She was already the all-time leader in points scored by a female in the history of the state. She now trails only Lakeview Christian Academy’s Anders Broman, who also eclipsed the 5000 point mark (first boys player ever) just last week.

Dahlman scored 40 in the game and the Bombers defeated BOLD 79-42. Coach Tim Malone visited with our Jesse Logan and Dan Hinrichs about the win and Dahlman’s accomplishment.
