Vikings Trade Percy Harvin To Seattle

Monday, March 11th, 2013 at 1:45 pm

Big news out this afternoon as the Minnesota Vikings have traded disgruntled WR Percy Harvin to the Seahawks in exchange for a 2013 first-round pick, 2013 seventh-rounder, and a middle-round pick in 2014.

The Vikings now have four picks in the top 83 this year, but have a glaring hole at WR after also cutting Michael Jenkins to start the offseason. WR Jerome Simpson is also not expected back.

The NFL Free Agency Perod is almost upon us. Tomorrow is the official kickoff for free agents to sign with new teams. The Vikings have a couple free agents of interest, most notably pro bowl fullback Jerome Felton and RT Phil Loadholt who both helped clear the way for Adrian Peterson during his record setting MVP season in 2012.

Defenders Erin Henderson, Jasper Brinkley and JaMarca Sanford are also players who other teams may be targeting.

In Green Bay free agent news, The player rep for Green Bay free agent LB Brad Jones claims eight teams are showing interest in his client, but we don’t know yet who those teams are. Jones did flash big-time promise in the second half of 2012, outplaying A.J. Hawk at inside linebacker in Green Bay. He was drafted by Chiefs GM John Dorsey and would be a fit in Kansas City.

Packers fans are also interested to see where longtime Green Bay wide reciever Greg Jennings ends up. Jennings will enter free agency as one of the top WR’s available.
