Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to speak before the Wisconsin state education convention.

On Friday morning, Walker is scheduled to speak at the meeting sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators and the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials.

Gov. Walker’s appearance comes less than a month before he is to release his two-year state budget. The Associated Press reports that Walker has said that spending plan will include more money for education and an expansion of the voucher program, but he hasn’t provided many details.

Walker has told reporters that he wants to provide incentive money to the highest and lowest performing school districts, based on how they do on state report cards.

More than 2,000 school district leaders from across the state are expected at the meeting.
