Washburn County Trail Update
Current Trail Conditions as of Wednesday, January 9, 2013
Snowmobile Trails: CLOSED- All Washburn County Trails will remain closed at this time. Significant additional snow accumulation will be needed before the trails are able to open. However, The Wild Rivers State Trail is open 24/7/365.
Cross Country Ski Trails: Partially Open
Beaver Brook- Not groomed recently but in good condition.
College Street Park (City Park)- Was tracked and groomed on Saturday 12/29. Some thin spots remain. However, there are some very good sections as well- up to 1/2 inch of new snow. Enjoy!
Heartwood Trails- Recommend “rock ski” only
Leisure Lake Trail- No report
Nordic Woods Trail- Snow conditions remain poor. Significant additional snow is needed to allow for desirable groomed conditions.
Red Barn Trail- open and good condition
Sawyer Brook Springs Trail- No report
Totogatic Trail- Snow conditions remain poor. Significant additional snow is needed to allow for desirable groomed conditions.
Trego Lake Trail- Poor Condition
Snowshoe Trails: **Please be mindful of ski trails and stay off all tracked portions of any multi-use trail. Thank you!
Beaver Brook- Fair condition
College Street Park (City Park)- good condition
Heartwood Trails- Open
Hunt Hill Trails- Open
Trego Nature Trail- Open for hiking .. not recommended for snowshoeing now
Wildcat Mountain Bike Trail- Good condition
ATV Trails: Summer Use ATV Trails are currently OPEN.
The Wild River Trail and the railroad grade to Shell Lake are also open. All snowmobile trails on county forest land are open to ATV use from Dec 1-Mar 31.
Anytime the fire danger reaches “Very High” or higher, the trails will be closed.
