Cloquet Man Hospitalized After Being Shot By Wife

A Cloquet man has been hospitalized after he called police and said his wife had shot him.

The incident was reported at about 5:50 a.m. Sunday in Cloquet. The 38-year-old man had been shot in the chest and was taken to the Cloquet Memorial Hospital and then transported to Duluth. His condition is not known.

The victim’s 36-year-old wife was arrested without incident. Police told WDIO that they recovered a gun which they believe was used in the shooting.

The suspect is awaiting formal charges.
