Elderly Man’s Remains Found In Sawyer County House Fire Debris
A man is dead after a house fire in Wisconsin’s Sawyer County.
The sheriff’s department in Sawyer County says the fire broke out at a residence around 10pm on Christmas day in the Town of Winter. WEAU reports that while the fire was being fought, an investigation started into the whereabouts of the person who lived at the home. Fire crews continued to put out the fire and were digging through debris. Two days later, officials found the remains of 84-year old Harold Kingery in the debris in the home.
Officials have stressed that the cause of his death and the cause of the fire are not suspicious in nature. Currently it’s believed that the cause of the fire came from a heat source within the home.
