A young boy from Kanabec County was hit by a vehicle and killed on Christmas night. In a press release from the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office we learned that a call for help came in from Whited Township around 6:32pm that a child had been struck by a motor vehicle at his residence. The boy, who was just seven years old, was transported to Firstlight Health Systems in Mora and then flown to a metro hospital. Sadly the boy did not survive the injuries he sustained in the accident.

Sources close to the family of the boy have indicated that the driver of the vehicle may have been related to the boy, but that hasn’t been confirmed by officials. The accident is currently under investigation by the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office. The names of the boy and of the driver of the vehicle are being withheld at this time.
