Rolling Press Conference This Weekend To Raise Awareness About NLX
Students from the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG) in Duluth and the Twin Cities have joined forces to host a “Rolling Press Conference” in order to raise awareness about the proposed Northern Lights Express high-speed rail between Duluth and Minneapolis.
Please join them and other community members at one or more of their stops this Saturday, December 8, 2012:
9:45 a.m. Duluth Depot with Congressman-elect Rick Nolan, St. Louis County Director of Intergovernmental Affairs John Ongaro, and UMD Student Jason Reid
12:30 p.m. Hinckley Fire Museum with Pine County Commissioner Doug Carlson, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Representative Diane Gibbs, and students from UMD
1 p.m. St. Paul Union Depot with Representative Frank Hornstein, Twin Cities MPIRG Member and Environmental Task Force Leader Kristen Peterson, and Macalester MPIRG Co-chair Nicholas Matzke
3 p.m. Foley Blvd Metro Transit Park and Ride Ramp in Coon Rapids, site of potential NLX station, with students and NLX supporters
