Braham Girls Defeat Mora 63-46 Thursday Night
Thursday night we started our coverage of high school basketball with a girls game between the Mora Mustangs and the Braham Bombers. The Bombers won 63-46.
This game featured one of the most decorated girls players in Minnesota history in senior Becca Dahlman. She entered this season as the MSHSL girls All-Time leading scorer, and already this season has surpassed another milestone and has become the first Minnesota girl ever to score 4,000 career points. Dahlman contributed 26 points in the Bombers win. She has committed to playing her college ball at Vanderbilt in Tennessee.
With the win the Bombers have now won nine in a row against the Mustangs and they also extended a home winning streak that started in January 2009. Braham is now 4-0 to start the season and will take on Hinckley-Finlayson on Tuesday in Braham.
The Mora unit is headlined by senior Noelle Elvehjem, who had 23 points in the game to lead all Mustangs scorers. She also just captained the Mora volleyball team to a berth in the State Tournament. With the loss the Mustangs are 0-2 on the season. Up next for Mora, Milaca in Milaca Friday night.
