In a sign that the holiday season is right around the corner, last Friday staff members from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Conservation Corps of Minnesota harvested a 65-foot spruce tree in the Chengwatana State Forest near Pine City. The tree was taken to the governor’s official residence in St. Paul to serve as the annual Christmas tree and is on display now.

Last year’s tree also came from the Chengwatana State Forest.
