Dayton Opposes Vikings Plan To Charge Extra Fees

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has come out and said that he’ll fight any effort by the Vikings to charge fans extra fees to buy season tickets in the new football stadium.

In a letter sent Tuesday, Dayton told team owner Zygi Wilf that he is distressed by reports the team may charge seat license fees to help generate a private contribution toward the stadium. Dayton says he will urge a public authority to block any such move.

The Vikings are to pay a little more than half the price of the $975million stadium. Dayton told Wilf that the contribution is the responsibility of team owners, not fans.
