The Minnesota Vikings improved to 6-4 on the season with a 34-24 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

If the Vikings have any chance of getting to the playoffs they will need to continue to rely heavily on Adrian Peterson, who had another great game rushing for 171 yards and one touchdown. Peterson now leads the NFL with 1,128 rushing yards this season.

Quarterback Christian Ponder also had a good game,  rebounding from three ugly starts, with 221 yards passing and two touchdowns while completing 24of his 32 passes.

The Vikings will have a bye next week before their schedule gets really difficult with three straight divisional games, two against the Bears and one against the Packers.
