Arson Suspect Arrested In Connection To Veterinary Hospital Fire In North Branch
A suspect has been arrested in connection to the fire at the North Branch Veterinary Hospital.
According to the North Branch Police Department, an investigation by the department along with tips from community members led to the arrest of 21-year-old Ryan Keith Ortlepp of North Branch. Ortlepp was booked for second degree arson, which is a felony that could carry a sentence of up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $20,000, or both.
Ortlepp is currently being held at the Chisago County Jail.
The fire happened at about 3:30am on Sunday, November 4. It caused extensive roof and utility damage on the southeast corner of the building. Five dogs and a cat were rescued from the building.
