Arrest Made In Pine County Burglary
On Friday night (10/26) just after 5pm, Pine County Deputies responded to a residence on Long Lake Road in reference to a burglary that had just occurred.
In a press release we learned that as Deputies arrived in the area they noticed a green van parked down the street from the break-in. Deputies made contact with the home owner who stated that she had witnessed a party known to her as Douglas Roy Booker, born 1970, and another unknown male remove items from the garage at her residence and then flee in a green van.
Deputies immediately began searching for the green van seen earlier and ultimately located it parked in the garage of a known associate in the City of Rutledge. Inside the van Deputies saw property taken in the burglary. A male party at the residence told Deputies that Booker had entered the house but then fled out a window.
A consent search was conducted of the Rutledge house by a Sheriff’s Investigator and Deputies. Booker was found hiding in a closet and taken into custody and subsequently charged with 3rd Degree Burglary. The green van containing evidence was tow and is currently being held pending forfeiture.
