Clinton Stumping For Obama Tuesday In Duluth
Election day is now one week away and as President Obama remains on the East Coast to deal with Superstorm Sandy damage, Bill Clinton is out on the stump. In fact, the former President Bill Clinton will be in Duluth today (October 30). According to an Obama campaign site, UMD will welcome the Former President at the Kirby Ballroom at 12:30 p.m.
Political pundits have raised an interesting proposition here: with Clinton’s visit to Minnesota, is the presidential campaign shaping up much differently than everyone thought? Well there is no doubt, Obama’s team is shifting its focus. In fact, both president Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney have launched late TV commercials in Minnesota of late, and some say the ad buy suggests the Obama campaign is desperately worried about losing Minnesota.
Minnesota has gone democratic longer than any other state, and hasn’t elected a republican for president since 1976.
To be sure, Clinton’s visit is just happenstance. He will most assuredly be rallying for Obama, Senator Klobuchar and other Democratic candidates.
