Mora Falls To Annandale In Section Playoff Action On 100.9 WCMP-FM

Saturday night on FM 100.9, the Mora Mustangs headed to Annandale to take on the Cardinals in a big 2nd round section playoff game. Mora came into this game after a 35:0 performance against the Pine City Dragons last Tuesday. This was Annandale’s first playoff game after having a succesful 7-1 regular season record.

Annandale showed dominance early, scoring three straight touchdowns in the first half to go up on the Mustangs 22-0. Mora did stay in the game with a 7-yard Justin Mantel run to respond. Going into half time the score stood at 27-7.

Annandale running back Andrew Russek was the star of the game, scoring 5 touchdowns in total for his team. He scored from distances of 40 & 30 yards on runs, as well as 85 yards on a kick return touchdown. By the time the 4th quarter came around, Russek took any Mora comeback possibilities away from the game. The final score in Annandale stood at 47-29 in favor of the Cardinals.
