Friday night the Pirates football team faced a tough task with a matchup against the Elk Mound Mounders. Grantsburg was on the road for this one and contended with a Mounders team that’s lost just one game all season.

The scoring started off early for Elk Mound as they scored a 5 yard Touchdown reception from Adam Gottschalk in the opening minutes. After 2 quarters of play, Elk Mound went into the half leading 21:0.

The only Grantsburg points of the night came in the 3rd Quarter with a 4 yard Touchdown run by none other than Joseph Gaffney. The game ended with an Elk Mound victory, the final score being 42:6
