Authorities say a crash in Carlton County killed two men Monday morning around 8:45.

The victims are were 25-year old Zachary Gamache of Esko, and 29-year old Mitchell Lingren of Duluth. The state patrol said both were ejected from the truck they were riding in.

Also, authorities said the driver of the car that allegedly started the chain of events has been arrested for criminal vehicular operation. Vanessa Brigan, a 26-year-old from Cloquet, was taken into custody following the crash. According to the Minnesota Courts website, she has a history of driving with a revoked license.

Authorities said Brigan crossed the center line, and collided with the front tire of the truck driven by Gamache. His truck then lost its axle and then hit a trailer being pulled by another truck. The driver of that truck was not hurt.

Also, according to the state patrol, the passenger in Brigan’s car was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Jesse McMillen, also of Cloquet, fled the scene and was later arrested.

The crash happened on Highway 210 just west of the city of Cromwell.

Traffic was detoured for several hours after the crash.
