A Danbury couple charged with neglect that resulted in the death of their 3-year-old daughter have turned themselves in to authorities.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office reports that the couple turned themselves in to authorities around noon Sunday.

An arrest warrant was issued Friday for Thomas Williams and Jenna Danish, but when Burnett County Sheriff deputies arrived at their home to arrest them Friday night no one answered the door.

The couple has been charged with felony child neglect resulting in the death of Reena Mae Williams, according to Wisconsin court records.

Three-year-old Reena died in August after she accidentally drowned in a canal near her home.

The criminal complaint issued against Danish and Williams says that a witness told investigators he and Williams were smoking synthetic marijuana in the minutes before the little girl disappeared. When the couple’s home was searched deputies found numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a supply of synthetic drugs.

Another person told authorities that Danish admitted she was sleeping during the period that Reena wandered away.

I see it every day. The addictions of the adults are fed WAY before the needs of the kids. I’m actually surprised it doesn’t happen more often. Kids are left alone so often; an adult sleeping it off in the house with kids translates into the kids being left alone. Adults using drugs or drinking and not attending to the kids is leaving the kids alone. Self centered, clueless people will never a decent parent be. I say lock em up and throw away the key. Mandatory sterilization for both.
