UPDATED: 4 Dead And 1 Seriously Injured In Pine County Crash
Four people were killed and another was seriously hurt after a crash in Pine County early Tuesday evening.
According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:30pm a pick-up truck with five people inside was traveling westbound, about a mile east of Askov, on Rutabaga Road and making a left turn onto Clark Road in front of an oncoming semi-truck.
17-year-old Felicity Jensen, 21-year-old Brett Larson and 58-year-old Arden Edwards were pronounced dead at the scene. 20-year-old Catherine Peterson was airlifted to a hospital, where she later died. All of the victims were from Askov. Authorities say that all four of the victims were inside the pick-up truck. Another 20-year-old man also suffered serious injuries, he is currently in critical condition.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.
The accident is under investigation by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
