Dayton Orders Flags At Half-Staff In Observance Of Sept. 11 Anniversary
Gov. Mark Dayton has proclaimed Tuesday Patriot Day and A Day of Service and Remembrance to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks 11 years ago.
Dayton has ordered flags lowered to half-staff at all state and federal buildings in Minnesota from sunrise until sunset Tuesday. Individuals, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to also lower their flags in observance of the September 11 anniversary.
President Barack Obama is asking Americans to take part in community service to honor victims of the terrorist attacks.
President Obama and Gov. Dayton are encouraging Americans to observe a National Moment of Silence at 7:46am Central time, marking when American Airlines Flight 11 hit the north tower of the World Trade Center.
