Last night on 100.9FM, WCMP, we had our first high school volleyball broadcast! Last night’s match-up featured the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars taking on the Pine City Dragons.

Going into the game the Jaguars were on a six game losing streak against the Dragons. The last time they beat Pine City was in October of 2008.

Things got off to a good start for Hinckley-Finlayson, as they won the first set 25-22. Pine City tied things up with a 25-23 win in set two. After that Hinckley-Finlayson won two sets in a row to win the match 3-1.

The win improved the Jaguars record to 2-1 on the year and it also snapped their losing streak against Pine City. They also surpassed last year’s win total of one.

The Pine City Dragons are now 0-2  this year, but they will get another shot at Hinckley-Finlayson on Saturday during the Pine City Invitational Tournament.

After the game our Jesse Logan talked with Jaguars Head Coach Bonnie Scullard about the win.
