Gas Leak Contained In Webster, No Injuries Reported

At about 10 p.m. on Monday night, a vehicle hit a gas meter outside The Tap tavern in Webster, breaking off the meter a causing a gas leak. We Energy was notified of the leak, but it was two hours before they were able to respond. Traffic was diverted from Hwy. 35 near the accident and from Webster’s Main Street. The Siren and Webster Fire Departments were on scene and sprayed water at the leak to keep natural gas from spreading. The leak was contained without anyone being injured.
