Two Minnesotans were seriously injured yesterday when their small plane crashed while trying to take off in Canada.

Ontario Provincial Police were called at about 9:30 am Wednesday about a plane going down north of Kenora, Ontario.

Authorities say the Cessna 180 was trying to take off from a camp on Trout Lake when it crashed. The 78-year-old male pilot and a 62-year-old woman were hurt. Another passenger, a 44-year-old man, was not injured.

All three of the people in the plane were from Cloquet. The pilot was transferred to a hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The woman was taken to a Duluth hospital.
