Flags At Half-Staff To Mark 5th Anniversary Of 35W Bridge Collapse
Governor Mark Dayton ordered U.S. and Minnesota Flags to fly at half-staff at government buildings today to mark the fifth anniversary of the 35W bridge collapse.
The flags are lowered today to honor the 13 people that were killed when the bridge collapsed into the Mississippi River. The governor’s proclamation mentions that 145 people were injured.
Federal investigators cited a design flaw as the cause of the collapse.
A memorial to those affected is in a park near the collapse site in Minneapolis.
