Thome Moves Into Seventh Place On All-Time Home Run List

Jim Thome is now in seventh place on the all-time home run list after hitting his 610th home run on Friday.

Thome hit the home run in the fourth inning off of Cleveland starting pitcher Derek Lowe. With the home run, Thome passed Sammy Sosa on the list. It was his first homer since being acquired by the Orioles from the Philadelphia Phillies on July 1, and sixth of the season overall.

Thome has played for the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies and now the Baltimore Orioles.
