Pine City School Board Reviewing Applicants At Special Meeting Monday Night

The Pine City School Board will have a special meeting tonight at 5pm to review the candidates for the current vacancy on the School Board. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held in the Elementary Media Center.

Due to the resignation of board member Roger Rutgers, Pine City Public Schools is seeking a person interested in serving on the board through December 2013.

At the next school board election scheduled for Nov. 20, 2013 this seat will be up for election for a two-year term which will begin in January 2014. This vacancy will be filled by majority vote of the remaining six members of the board.

To help the school board determine the best fit for this vacancy, hopeful applicants were asked to:

1. Provide a brief personal background including family education.

2. Answer why they would want to serve on the Pine City School Board.

3. Tell what jobs or positions have they’ve held that would help qualify them as a school board member.

4. Answer what do they would hope to accomplish as a board member.
