It’s HOT: Heat Causes Portion Of Wisconsin Road To Buckle
It’s expected to be another hot one in the listening area on Monday.
A warm front slides up from the south that will give us highs in the lower to middle 90s with more humidity. If you’re going to go outside today plan to drink plenty of water and try to stay in the shade.
On Sunday, the heat caused a portion of Highway 29 in Chippewa County to buckle. Roads were blocked for nearly five hours as crews worked to fix the buckle; it was on Highway 29 westbound, near County Highway T.
Fortunately no accidents were reported as a result of the road giving way. Crews showed up on site last night at about 5:15 and had the section in working condition by 10pm.
