Wolves Make One Trade, May Make Others Ahead Of NBA Draft Tonight
The NBA Draft will take place tonight, and on Wednesday the Timberwolves traded their first round pick to Houston for small forward Chase Budinger. Minnesota had a first rounder from Utah in the Al Jefferson trade, but dealt that pick for Budinger, who coach Rick Adelman has experience with from their days together with the Rockets.
Minnesota may not be done dealing though, as Wolves’ president of basketball operations David Kahn didn’t dispel rumors of trading last year’s second overall pick Derrick Williams. Kahn met with the media on Wednesday, and said that only Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love were untouchable on the Wolves roster. Kahn said he hopes those two players retire as life-long Timberwolves.
The Draft starts tonight at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
