Miss Minnesota And Miss Wisconsin Crowned
The preliminaries for the Miss America Pageant were held this weekend and a new Miss Minnesota and Miss Wisconsin were crowned.
University of Minnesota student Siri Freeh took home the crown in Minnesota. She competed against 21 other women.
Freeh is studying nursing and says she intends to eventually earn a doctorate in cardiovascular research.
In Wisconsin, 23-year-old Katherine Ann Gorman of Onalaska won the crown. Gorman beat out 22 other women for the title at Oshkosh West High School’s Civil Auditorium.
Gorman is a 2012 elementary art education graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Freeh and Gorman will compete for the Miss America crown next January in Las Vegas.
