Search Continues In Northland For Missing Pilot, Plane

The search continues for veteran pilot Michael Bratlie and his plane. Dozens of rescuers are scanning the north shore of Lake Superior after he disappeared flying to Duluth to test out the plane’s engine on Friday night.

WDIO reports that radar last spotted his plane near Two Harbors and cell phone towers last detected his cell phone near Silver Bay.

According to officials, Bratlie flew out of St. Paul Friday night in a Piper PA-31 Navaho.

All total, 40 volunteer Civil Air patrolmen and women, along with 8 planes searched the skies Monday narrowed their scanning to north of Silver Bay.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call their local sheriff’s office.
